Hey Everyone

Sorry for leaving everyone in the dark the last few days, but I’m going into exams for 2 weeks straight starting in a couple of days, so ontop of studying it has been hard to keep posting. However when i get the chance I will write up an anime talk for the Anime Angel Beats. Essentially it is a fantasy slice of life that revolves around dead teenagers, their lives and helping each other reaching happiness in a limbo world. Anyway hope you stick around for that till next time, for now ill link you to a small funny snippit from the anime.

Toradora Anime talk

March 11, 2012 6 comments

Hey Everyone

Today I am going to talk about the anime which I mentioned in the last video of the week. The anime is called Toradora and it is a high school romance, with a great balance of comedy as well as family and friend issues tied in with emotion. The show consists of 25 episodes at a standard length of around 20 minutes each, so if you really want to watch it as fast as possible it would probably take you 2-3 days depending on your schedule.

Anyway the show mainly focuses on 2 characters, a teenage male named Ryuji who is somewhat falsely classified as a scary delinquent mainly due to his eyes, (this then becomes a running joke in the anime as the audience sees that Ryuji in reality is like a stay at home parent who cooks and cleans, and becomes whipped over the main female character in the story) and the second character is a short but dangerous female teenage character named Taiga (also reffered to as a legend by the name of the palmtop tiger due to her height and agressive nature). Next anime talk?

Hey Everyone

I wanted to try something different in regards to which anime I choose to talk about and review. So I thought that I should have a listen to what the viewers want to read about the most. I have 5 animes in mind:

  • Toradora (the anime from video os the week 4)
  • Bakemonogatari (A supernatural and spastic/seisure like highschool romance)
  • Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien ( A tragic story that would realistically be replicated in the real world if the same thing occured)
  • A general summary and overview of the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs
  • A lengthy talk on the Death Note series (However will take at least a few days to write up properly)

So there you have it i’ll add in a poll and you can vote on which ever option you want and I will put in effort to write about it for the next anime talk. Anyway, till next time.

Hey Everyone

This Week’s video of the week is an amv on an anime called Toradora, I have yet to talk about this anime in a talk of some sort, however I can say that it is one of the better romance stories out there with the ending being pretty bold :P. Anyway here it is and I hope it gets you guys interested.

Bokurano Anime Talk

March 6, 2012 Leave a comment

Hey Everyone

Back again today to discuss another anime, this time it is a full series of 24 episodes running at around 20 minutes each, and takes an unusual writing and story style to place the audience in a situation where they delve into deep psychological and emotional problems within the lives of the 12 or so children involved.

I probably did a little skip over there, but essentially Bokurano is a science fiction anime which consists of hidden meaning and problems within seemingly average children. At first I was pretty turned off with the main plot of the story where these children decide to ‘play a game’ for a mysterious programmer named Kokopelli. He contracts these children to help him play in which 1 person pilots a giant robot and fights another giant robot to the end. However after Kokopelli’s demonstration of this fighting he mysteriously disappears for the entire anime until very near the end when his story is shown in a flashback of utter importance.

Anyway getting back on track this anime for me would have been quite boring to watch, until the story progressed just a little further where the first and second pilot of the robot mysteriously die after using it in a battle. I’ll leave that topic for you to discover on your own :P. But yeah for me the story and lives that children involved are leaving can be quite sad and disturbing from the view of the audience, different issues such as power, suicide and its effects on those around you, depression, desperation, rape, public humiliation, revenge and other key psychological problems are thorougly explored in this anime from children. For me it is this underlying factor that drove me to watch the series right to the very end, as well as the show’s catchy opening which by the way I will link at the bottom. So therefore I would highly recommend this anime to an audience of around teenage years and above, especially those who have an interest in the exploration of the human mind and the effects of psychological attacks on it. Till next time.
